Recovery Supports Australia offers a comprehensive 12-week group program designed to build resilience and grounded daily habits—so you can get unstuck from unhelpful cycles and move toward what matters.
The program combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), guided mindfulness practice, and psychosocial recovery coaching.
Across twelve weeks, we teach core ACT skills using Dr Russ Harris’s The Happiness Trap curriculum (used with permission), and integrate RSA-led mindfulness sessions and coaching. The result is a practical, supportive program that helps you handle difficult thoughts and feelings, reduce stress and anxiety, and take values-based action in everyday life.
ACT-informed group self-help has been used successfully in refugee communities, leading to less distress and better day-to-day functioning. If it works there, it’s robust enough for everyday life too.
Learn simple breathing and grounding skills to steady your body when stress spikes. Large medical reviews show mindfulness courses help many people lower anxiety and stress in everyday life.
You’ll clarify what truly matters and take small steps that build momentum. That’s the heart of ACT—turning intentions into actions you can repeat in real life.
We help you discover your personal values to provide direction and enable committed action.
ACT teaches you to “unhook” from worry and harsh self-talk, so your mind stops running the show. Reviews of ACT research report consistent benefits across common problems like anxiety and low mood.
In this 12-week journey, you begin with the self-paced 8-week Happiness Trap program by Russ Harris.
You’ll learn to handle unhelpful thoughts, reduce emotional struggle, and take meaningful action.
Starting in week 5, we run 8 weekly live group coaching sessions.
In these sessions, we explore ACT tools like the Choice Point and ACT Matrix, while practising mindfulness techniques—such as grounding, present-moment awareness, and self-compassion.
By the end, you’ll have practical tools and a stronger ability to live in line with what matters to you.
New Groups begin at the beginning of each month.
Sessions are run online in individual and Group Zoom Meetings. (This ensures all Participants can attend regardless of location.)
There is also online course material and exercises to complete each week. You will need to commit between 1-3 hours per week.
